Welcome Los Angeles Harbor College students!
Hello AJ 319 Research Methods Students
Although this is an online course; you must attend a mandatory orientation here on campus.
Orientation
In this orientation, I will cover the delivery methods of this course. This research course is a bit different than an original online course, because you must submit your work in person and through an online plagiarism site called turnitin.com. It will be explained during the orientation.
I will also cover the method of instruction for this course. Although most of your materials are in this site, supplemental information is on my website; www.professormikereid.com . The best way to complete this course is to attend the orientation and pay attention to the instructions both during the orientation and through-out the course.
If you are on a waiting list, it is a good chance that you will not be added. Currently there are 50 students enrolled in the course. If you are on a waiting list, attend the orientation and maybe a student who is enrolled will fail to show. You will not know until the orientation day.
If you have any syllabus or book questions, refer to my website www.professormikereid.com and look under information (Right column)
Which course are you enrolled in? It will be AJ 319 Research Methods. There are a few tabs that are currently open.
If you have any tips you are willing to share and let me post, please

Tips for Taking
ONLINE Tests and Quizzes in Canvas
Don't wait until the last few hours that your test is available to begin taking
the test. If you have technical problems, you may not be able to resolve
them in time to complete your exam before the test window expires.
Use a desktop computer that is hardwired to an Internet connection or temporarily
hardwire a laptop to a modem with a Category 5 (Cat 5) Ethernet cable to
minimize the risk of losing your connection while you are working on tests or
assignments in Canvas.
Dial-up Connection If you are using a dial-up Internet connection, you may lose it if you exceed the
designated time limit (usually 20 or 30 minutes) for inactive browsing set by
your Internet service provider (ISP). Do not close your exam! Reconnect to your
ISP to complete your test. TIP: Your time-out settings should be set to the
maximum. Contact your ISP for assistance.
